The Christmas season brings with it a number of traditions that bring family together and create memories to last well beyond the holiday. The Santa Express Train with the Royal Gorge Route in Canon City is a family favorite, and Royal Gorge Cabins compliments the experience with contemporary luxury cabins just minutes from the train depot. Santa Express Train
All aboard the Santa Express! Just 8 miles from our cozy cabin rentals, the Santa Express Train offered by the Royal Gorge Route Railroad will take your family on a two hour journey filled with holiday joy. Bring your holiday cheer along on the two-hour journey as train staff lead the children in singing popular Christmas songs. Hot chocolate and cookies are served, and children are encouraged to wear their pajamas just like in the popular book! The train stops at the North Pole where Santa and his Elves board the train and visit with the children for the remainder of the tour. Each child receives a special holiday gift from Santa.
The Santa Express Train is offered by our friends at the Royal Gorge Route Railroad and runs from November 16th through December 24th. Due to the popularity of the experience, advanced reservations are strongly recommended as many days / times fill to capacity. The train depot is located 8 miles east of Royal Gorge Cabins in Canon City, Colorado. Transportation to the train depot is not provided.

Bridge of Lights - Royal Gorge Bridge & Park
Check out the dazzling drive-through light extravaganza this holiday season at the famous Royal Gorge Bridge located just minutes from your rental cabin. The Bridge of Lights offers scheduled reservations most evenings through New Years Eve. This is a one-of-a-kind journey through thousands of twinkling lights and holiday merriment, where you’ll drive in your own vehicle over the suspension bridge itself. You can also treat yourself to delicious hot cocoa and tasty holiday cookies available for purchase at the start of the experience.

Single King Cabin
The Single King Cabin is a luxury vacation cabin just right for couples or groups of two. You’ll find the same well-equipped kitchenette, the same open and bright bathroom, and gorgeous mountain views from the spacious living area.
2 BEDROOM | 2 KING BEDS | SLEEPS 4
Double King Cabin
Families of up to four will appreciate the added space in our 2 bedroom luxury cabin rental. The master bedroom features a king bed and flat screen TV while the second story bedroom includes second king bed and a half bathroom.
More Winter-Time Things to Do
While you won’t be able to hop on a raft trip while vacationing in the Royal Gorge Region in winter months, there’s still no shortage of things to do while on your getaway. The Royal Gorge Dinosaur Experience museum is always a kid-favorite and is located just across the road from our cabins. Or, choose to go for an easy hike or bike ride on the Point Alta Vista Trail or Canyon Rim Trail again just minutes from your cabin.
The Winery at Holy Cross Abbey in Cañon City features award winning wines, a tasting room, and gift shop. Or, try soaking in the soothing hot waters at Desert Reef Hot Springs located 30 minutes from our cabins, just outside of Florence, Colorado. You’ll find a variety of local shops and eateries in historic Cañon City. Located just fifteen minutes from Cañon City you’ll find historic Florence, Colorado, with several additional dining options and a number of antique shops along the town’s picturesque Main Street.
