The largest of our vacation rentals, Piñon House is a 5 bedroom, 3.5 bath home with plenty of open space and incredible views of the Sangre de Cristo mountains. Accommodating up to 10 guests, the space is the perfect gathering location with all of the amenities necessary for you and your group to comfortably enjoy your getaway.
Piñon House is a roomy and well-appointed vacation rental near Cañon City and the Royal Gorge, and just about one hour from Colorado Springs.
The space features a primary suite with king bed, gas fireplace, cable tv, and an en suite bathroom with his and her vanities, large walk-in shower, and patio doors that open to the wrap-around deck. A second primary suite downstairs also has an en suite bathroom, walk-in closet, and French doors that open to the patio with mountain views. The 3 additional bedrooms include queen beds and French doors opening onto the ground floor patio with mountain views. A 3/4 bathroom with shower is centrally located adjacent to the 3 guest bedrooms. Linens, blankets, pillows, and towels are provided.
The spacious sunken living room includes a leather sectional, large screen TV with cable, and a wood stove for cozy gatherings. A hot tub is located on the lower patio, a large laundry room includes a washer and dryer, and ample closet space and storage can be found throughout the home for extended vacations. Piñon House includes complimentary wireless internet throughout the home, and central heat and air conditioning.

Piñon House kitchen details
The spacious kitchen features state of the art stainless steel appliances including a full sized refrigerator with freezer, gas range and oven, and microwave. A coffee pot is available with complimentary coffee roasted by a local roaster. The kitchen has a large center island with ample seating, granite countertops, and lots of storage. Also provided is flatware, silverware, cooking utensils, pans, and many other tools to prepare scrumptious meals for your group. A propane gas BBQ grill is provided at one of the outdoor patio spaces as well as outdoor seating and tables.
Groceries can be purchased at a variety of grocery stores located in Cañon City, just 8 miles away. Our restaurant, the 8 Mile Bar & Grill, is located very close by and is open seasonally from Memorial Day to Labor Day.

Where is Piñon House located?
Piñon House is located about 8 miles west of Cañon City, CO, about a 1/4 of a mile off of Highway 50. This vacation rental is about an hour southwest of Colorado Springs, and about 5 minutes from the Royal Gorge Bridge and Park. A physical address will be provided to guests after a reservation has been made and the digital rental agreement has been signed/submitted.
Is there a cleaning fee in addition to the nightly rate?
No, we won’t charge you any additional fees beyond state and local taxes. The cost of cleaning the vacation rental is built into the nightly rate so you won’t be surprised by additional fees. There is an optional cancellation guarantee that you can opt into or out of at the time of making the reservation.
What is the optional cancellation guarantee fee?
At the time of making a reservation and for an additional fee of 7.5%, guests may opt into the Cancellation Guarantee. With this added cancellations made prior to 48 hours in advance of check-in time receive a refund less 7.5% of the reservation total. Cancellations made prior to 24 hours in advance of check-in time receive a credit for a calendar year. Cancellations made within 24 hours of check-in time are not subject to a refund or a credit. Guests who opt out of the Cancellation Guarantee or reservations not eligible for the Cancellation Guarantee are subject to the Standard Cancellation Policy.
What is the standard cancellation policy?
Guests opting out of the optional Cancellation Guarantee must agree to the following Standard Cancellation Policy. Once payment has been submitted reservations will not be refunded for any reason.

Check in time is 4 PM. Check out time is 11 AM.
Where is the nearest grocery store to stock up on food?
Cañon City, located 8 miles east of Piñon House, is your closest option for groceries. Colorado grocery stores also sell full strength beer and beginning in 2023 can sell wine, but you’ll have to source spirits at a liquor store. You’ll find liquor stores in close proximity to all grocery stores for this reason.
Where are bedrooms situated in Piñon House?
The largest primary bedroom is located on the top level / entrance level of the home. It has a king sized bed and large bathroom with dual sinks and spa style shower. Downstairs you’ll find the second primary bedroom with en room bathroom. This second primary bedroom also has a king sized bed. The remaining 3 bedrooms are located downstairs off the main hallway with a bathroom with shower in close proximity. All of the bedrooms have French doors with access to either the ground floor patio or the upstairs porch.
